Dawn is in her 8th year as the Executive Director at CRIS Adaptive Adventures in Kelowna. She continues to be humbled and grateful that she is able to have a career that couples two of her passions – working with people with disabilities and a love for adventuring in the great outdoors! Dawn has worked in charitable organizations for over 20 years and brings extensive experience and knowledge of the sector to the Grindstone Award Foundation Board. She believes strongly in equality for all people and demonstrates this through her work in breaking down perceived barriers in the outdoors for people with disabilities.
Dawn is excited to be a part of the movement in women’s hockey that the Grindstone Award Foundation is fueling. She was fortunate to have strong support as she moved through her competitive sports career and because of that feels strongly that any young girl or woman who has a dream of playing hockey should be supported and encourage to work towards that goal. Enter Grindstone.
When she isn’t working or volunteering, Dawn enjoys hiking with her dog (Beans), paddling (kayak and sup), fishing, camping, live music and spending time with friends and family.
