Bindy describes herself as a corporate nomad, philanthropist, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who has walked the path less travelled. More importantly, she is a human being first, with an insatiable thirst to see, connect with, and uplift others. Her passion lies in empowering children and giving voice and opportunity to those she sees her younger self in — all while leading with compassion, empathy, and heart-centered living.
Now, as Director of Partnership Development at the Grindstone Award Foundation, she is committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring young girls have access to the same opportunities as their peers. A recent article in Canadian Underwriting highlights a troubling reality that progress for women in leadership, including CEO roles, has stalled. But real change begins long before the boardroom. At Grindstone, we know that today’s young athletes are tomorrow’s leaders.
With over 12 years of experience in strategic partnerships, revenue growth, and philanthropic development, Bindy has led multimillion-dollar partnerships and championed initiatives like WickFest, Women In Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC), and India2YYC. Her expertise in stakeholder engagement, funding diversification, and strategic alliances fuels her drive to create more inclusive and supportive environments.
At Grindstone, we’re not just fostering a love for the game — we’re building confidence, resilience, and leadership skills that will shape the future of business, sports, and beyond.
Bindy is excited to join the Grindstone Award Foundation’s mission to help more girls get and stay in the game of hockey and ultimately, invest in the next generation of female leaders.
As Bindy’s role is to network with potential partners and to grow excitement for Grindstone’s goals, she welcomes you to connect directly with her to discuss how you may be able to help our dedicated and passionate team #HelpHerPlay.
