Grindstone at Vancouver Canucks annual Women’s Empowerment Night

The Grindstone Award Foundation is so very grateful for the continued support of The Vancouver Canucks and The Canucks For Kids Fund, our ongoing Platinum Sponsors, in our mission to help more girls get and stay on the ice so that they can keep playing the game we all love without financial barriers.

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, the Canucks once again graciously hosted Grindstone at their annual Women’s Empowerment Night, and re-committed another $20,000 to helping us help her play! We thank this incredible NHL team from the bottom of our hockey hearts. There are no words for how impactful your contribution is to our small but mighty charity.

Here are some video clips, featuring vice-president Jehan Jiwa being interviewed on the big screen, and Director of Grants Melissa Talaro rocking games and contests, at Rogers Arena in the heart of Vancouver.

An also massive thank you to ALL of our volunteers who came out to help support this very special night to mark Women’s History Month.

We’ll share more photos and highlights soon, but in the meantime, enjoy these fun videos, which truly represent the incredible time we all had while being welcomed as part of the Canucks family.

Thank you again to the Vancouver Canucks and the Canucks for Kids Fund for sharing our passion for giving more girls the chance to pick up a stick, strap on some skates, and make their hockey dreams come true!
